Dentistry for Patients with Noncommunicable Chronic Diseases

Abstract

This digital book gathers information on noncommunicable chronic diseases (NCDs), such as chronic kidney disease, diabetes and hypertension, which are becoming more frequent among the Brazilian and world population. The book gathers the main aspects of chronical kidney disease, diabetes and hypertension by pointing out the impact of those diseases to the patient’s oral health and dental care. By considering those aspects, these health professionals are better equipped to face the challenge of treating dental patients who need special attention due to NCDs.
